The Seventh Grand Reunion on June 23-26, 2005
Some came as early as June 18 from Belgium, Canada, England, the Philippines and 15 states of the U.S.–California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, Washington State and Wisconsin–Notre Dameans arrived in the city that Micky Mouse built to renew old friendships and form new ones. Five Meals a Day: Florida (2005)
Fast forward to the Florida reunion in 2005. By this time, I was much more relaxed. Bro. Willy and I (along with Art Henares, Angel Boloico, and Rolly Seneriches) stayed with Nena and Jun Adonay before transferring to the Disney Coronado Springs Resort for the main event.
This was where I fully experienced Filipino hospitality at its finest. At the Adonays, we were treated to five meals a day in true Pinoy fashion: agahan (breakfast), morning merienda, tanghalian (lunch), afternoon merienda, and hapunan (dinner). Ate Nena was the ultimate hostess—she kept cooking endlessly, ensuring food was never scarce as wave after wave of Dameans came to visit. By the time the reunion closed, I had forged lifelong friendships.
